cocktail gowns for summer

Headed to the Magic Castle tonight for the first time, and I’ve heard it’s a cool, quirky experience. You need to be invited by a member, and you must adhere to a strict dress code (outlined in part, below, copied and pasted from their website).
Thinking long and hard about whether I have enough time to run out and grab a bolo tie, if there are rules about how wrinkly your dress shirt can be (mine might set a record), and whether I can somehow pass off something more casual as Canadian “ethnic attire”... cocktail gowns for summer

All members and guests are required to dress in business attire or evening wear that is conservative, formal, and elegant.
Formal suit or coat with dress shirt, tie, and dress slacks (no denim) with closed-toe dress shoes is required. No casual footwear.

Exceptions to the “tie rule” are: full turtlenecks (no mock turtlenecks), bow ties, bolo ties, ascots, and banded collars when worn correctly.

Military dress (no fatigues), ethnic attire, and/or religious garb are allowed as exceptions to our dress requirements.
